American Legion Honor Guard

Sunday, May 24, 2026

The American Legion Honor Guard, Post 143 in Post Falls, is looking for new team members to help provide Military Funeral Honors for veterans.

This dedicated team serves as the only fully functional Honor Guard in Kootenai County, providing the flag ceremony, rifle salute, and Taps at veterans’ funeral and memorial services. They also post colors at community events, lead parades, and serve far beyond Kootenai County when other Honor Guard teams are no longer able to respond.

Right now, the team has only 11 members and is in urgent need of more volunteers to continue this important mission.

You do not have to be a veteran to serve. Anyone who is part of a Veterans Service Organization may be eligible, including Sons of the American Legion, DAR, Ladies' Auxiliary, and other related groups.

Stop by the lobby table on May 24 to learn more about the Honor Guard’s mission, ask questions, and find out how you can help ensure veterans receive the honors they have earned. If you are unable to visit the table but would still like more information, email Kenneth Johnson at Kwjsr.1963@yahoo.com

Sunday Services: 7:30 AM · 9 AM · 10:30 AM · 12 PM

Sunday, May 24, 2026

Our Sunday Services are centered on worshipping God, studying His Word, and growing together as a church family.

Each service begins with musical worship featuring a blend of contemporary worship music and traditional hymns. Following worship, we have a dedicated time called Prayer for Our Community, where we pray for a local church, a Candlelight missionary, a Candlelight ministry, and a public servant before opening God’s Word together.

Pastor Paul serves as our primary teacher, and we are currently walking verse-by-verse through an expository study of the book of Galatians. Our other pastors also periodically rotate in to teach, and we occasionally welcome guest speakers as well.

Whether you’ve attended church for years or are just beginning to explore the Christian faith, our Sunday services are designed to help you grow in your understanding of Scripture and deepen your relationship with Christ.

Sunday morning ministries for children and youth include:

  • Children’s Ministry is offered during the 9 AM, 10:30 AM, and 12 PM services for infants through 5th grade
  • Middle School Sunday School meets at 10:30 AM in Room 201
  • High school students are encouraged to attend service with their families and be part of the larger Body of Christ at Candlelight

The Upper Room Adult Discipleship Class

Sunday, May 24, 2026 - 10:30 AM

The Upper Room is Candlelight's Adult Discipleship Class. Every week, we open God’s Word together, ask questions, and grow as followers of Jesus. Currently, we are studying the Sermon on the Mount — Jesus’ call to lay down self and let God’s Spirit work through us to bless others.

Each week, Pastor Jason will help us apply these truths to real life — to our marriages, our parenting, our families, and our witness to the world. You’ll find meaningful discussion, encouragement, and growth as we learn to follow Jesus together.

Join us in the Upstairs Chapel every Sunday at 10:30 AM. Click HERE to sign up.

* Children’s Ministry is available! If your children are attending Children’s Ministry for both a church service AND The Upper Room, please be sure to check them out of Children’s Ministry during the 30-minute service break and then back in to Children’s Ministry at the beginning of the next service/class. They cannot stay in the Children’s Ministry during the service break.
